Jeff Hayes, Chair

Jeff had a fulfilling 40-year career in the City of London before retiring in January 2010 and taking up a number of Trustee/Co-opted roles within the voluntary sector. In the City he was a dealer on the London Stock Exchange and managed Investment portfolios for a range of UK and Global clients, including Charities, Pension Funds and Friendly Societies.

Jeff became a Trustee of the Trust for London in July 2010 and was appointed Chair of the Board in June 2013. He is also Chair of the Asset Allocation Committee.

In addition to the Trust for London Jeff has a number of external appointments. He is a Trustee at the West Ham United Foundation, a Special Advisor to the Board of Trustees at Carer’s UK, a Co-opted member on the Investment Committee at St Johns Foundation in Bath, a Co-opted member of the Finance Committee at the Scouts Association, and a Co-opted member of the Finance & Risk Committee at the Standard Life Foundation. In June 2020 Jeff stood down as Chair of Governors at Kings Ely, having served the maximum period of 10 years.

He has been married to Rene since 1973 has two children. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, golf, travel and photography.
