UK Lesbian and Gay Immigration Group
60 second overview
UK Lesbian and Gay Immigration Group (UKLGIG) supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex people (LGBTQI+) through the asylum and immigration system. The organisation provides psychosocial support, offers legal advice and information, helps people access legal representation, whilst also conducting policy and advocacy work.
Trust for London funding from the Pathways to Settlement programme has been granted to UKLGIG for the salary of a Legal Officer and Executive Director. The Legal Officer gives specialist advice to LGBTQI+ asylum seekers whilst helping to build the capacity of lawyers and input into policy work. The Executive Director leads on policy and advocacy work for the organisation.
