One often overlooked group which suffers social exclusion is young men aged 18-30. A significant number, many of them from black and minority ethnic communities, are marginalised and disaffected.

As an innovative response to the range of issues facing this group John Lyon’s Charity and City Parochial Foundation funded and developed the three year Young Men’s Initiative, based around two local community projects – the Refugee Advice an Support Centre in Hammersmith, and the Bengali Workers’ Association in Camden.

The summary report produced by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE), describes the development and impact of the initiative. The full evaluation will be available shortly.

Printed copies are available from NIACE 0116 204 4200; enquiries@niace.org.uk, or can be downloaded in pdf form by using the link below.
